Top Notch Theatrics

July 15-19, 2019

Lights, Camera, Action!

Top Notch Theatrics will bring to life the achievements of African Americans in front of the camera, behind the scenes, and on the stage.  This one week camp will explore the contributions fo groundbreakers such as Hattie McDaniel, Paul Robeson, Gregory Hines, Spike Lee, Bill Robinson, and Marsai Martin to name a few.

From the first Oscar nomination to the present domination, African Americans have fought to make sure our visual representation reflected the lives we live.  GoByk will introduce some key players who have made the way for our current actors, actresses, producers, directors and costume designers.  We will also learn about plays, movies, and music that have become a mainstay in our culture. By the end of your child's GoByk week, he/she will not only be familiar with industry greats but they will be able to tell you about them.

As with all GoByk camps, we will learn about the Black National Anthem, play indoor and outdoor games, and learn related quotes by notable African-Americans.  But, most of all, we will have fun!

We will share with you what we've learned during our performance at the end of the camp week.
